Hormonal Balance: PCOS, Thyroid and Menopause

Nutrition approaches that support hormonal balance and ease symptoms in PCOS, thyroid conditions and menopause.

What is Hormonal Balance: PCOS, Thyroid and Menopause?

Hormonal balance nutrition is an anti-inflammatory, blood-sugar-friendly medical nutrition approach that takes into account the effect of insulin, oestrogen and thyroid hormones on metabolism in conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's and menopause.

In women's health, hormones and nutrition interact in both directions: insulin resistance in PCOS, metabolic slowing in thyroid disease and changing fat distribution in menopause are the main reasons classic diets fail.

My programmes take into account your hormone profile, your medication and your cyclical symptoms. The aim is not only weight but improvement in the markers that define quality of life: cycle regularity, energy, sleep and bloating.

Who is it for?

  • Women diagnosed with PCOS who struggle with weight control
  • People living with Hashimoto's, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
  • Women gaining weight or experiencing hot flushes in perimenopause and menopause
  • Those with irregular cycles or hormonal acne
  • Women preparing for pregnancy

How does the process work?

Hormone and blood work assessment

TSH, free T3/T4, anti-TPO, insulin, androgens and vitamin D interpreted from a nutritional perspective.

Anti-inflammatory plan

A blood-sugar-friendly personal programme that balances omega-3, fibre, selenium, iodine and magnesium.

Cyclical follow-up

With a symptom diary and check-ins the programme is adapted to your cycle or treatment process.

What does the programme include?

  • A nutrition plan adapted to your hormone profile
  • Thyroid medication and food interaction guide
  • Insulin resistance management in PCOS
  • Bone and heart protective guidance in menopause
  • Evidence-based evaluation of supplement needs

Frequently asked questions

Is a gluten-free diet essential with Hashimoto's?

Not for everyone. If coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity is present a gluten-free diet is needed; otherwise the decision is based on personal tolerance and symptoms. I assess individually rather than restricting blindly.

Why is losing weight so hard with PCOS?

Most women with PCOS have insulin resistance, which makes fat storage easier and increases hunger. With a plan that restores blood sugar balance, weight loss becomes noticeably easier.

Is weight gain in menopause inevitable?

No. Falling oestrogen shifts fat to the abdomen and sets the stage for muscle loss, but with adequate protein, resistance training and the right energy balance this process can be managed.
