General

How do I recognise a trustworthy dietitian in Ankara?

A trustworthy dietitian holds a four-year degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, carries out a detailed assessment (history, body composition, blood tests) at the first consultation instead of handing out a ready-made list, offers regular follow-up, is transparent about fees and makes no miracle promises like “5 kilos a week”. Verifiable, consistent Google reviews are another good sign.

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutrition coach?

In Turkey the title “dietitian” belongs only to graduates of four-year university Nutrition and Dietetics departments and is protected by Law No. 1219. “Nutrition coaches”, “life coaches” or certificate-programme graduates cannot provide medical nutrition therapy. For insulin resistance, thyroid disease or diabetes you should always work with a dietitian.

What does metabolism-focused nutrition mean?

It is an approach in which your basal metabolic rate, body composition, blood work and daily rhythm are analysed so that your energy and nutrient needs are calculated individually. The plan is built on what your metabolism actually needs rather than a standard list, giving lasting results without the yo-yo effect.

When should I see a dietitian?

When you want to lose or gain weight, when you receive a diagnosis such as insulin resistance, diabetes, thyroid disease, PCOS or high cholesterol, when digestive complaints persist, during pregnancy or menopause, when you need sports nutrition, or simply when you want to eat healthily and regularly.

Do you offer consultations in English?

Yes. Consultations, written programmes and WhatsApp follow-up are available in English as well as Turkish.

Appointments and fees

How do I book an appointment?

You can reach me by phone or WhatsApp, or send a message on Instagram. We plan the day and time that suits you best; hours are flexible for online sessions.

How are fees determined?

Fees depend on the type of session (first consultation / check-in / package), whether it is in person or online, and the frequency of follow-up. I share current fees instantly on WhatsApp; all package contents are sent in writing beforehand so there are no surprises.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Just let me know at least 24 hours before your appointment; we will schedule a new time free of charge.

Does private health insurance cover dietitian consultations?

Some complementary health insurance policies cover dietitian services. An invoice is issued; please check reimbursement terms with your insurer.

How often are check-ins?

Check-ins are usually planned every 1–2 weeks; we decide the frequency together based on your needs. Between sessions we stay in touch via WhatsApp for your questions.

Programme and process

What happens at the first consultation?

Your medical history, eating habits and goals are assessed in detail; body composition analysis is carried out and, if available, your recent blood tests are reviewed together. At the end you receive a personal roadmap. The session takes about 45–60 minutes.

Will there be forbidden foods during the programme?

I don't work with strict bans. Programmes are built flexibly with exchange lists to fit your tastes and social life. The aim is not a short-term diet but an eating pattern you can keep for life.

Do I need blood tests?

Not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Values such as fasting glucose, insulin, HbA1c, TSH, lipid profile, iron, B12 and vitamin D allow the programme to be tailored to you. If you have tests from the last 3 months, just bring those.

How soon will I see results?

Within the first 2–4 weeks you notice a difference in energy, bloating and sleep; weight loss at a healthy pace is around 2–4 kg a month. Measurable improvement in blood markers (insulin, HbA1c) usually appears by month 3.

Will the weight come back after the programme?

My programmes include a maintenance phase. Once the target is reached calories are raised gradually and habits are reinforced; most of my clients keep the weight off long term.

Do I need supplements (vitamins, probiotics etc.)?

Only if your blood work and clinical situation call for them. I am against unnecessary supplementation; the priority is always meeting needs through food.

Online counselling

Is online counselling as effective as meeting in person?

Yes. The online programme follows the same assessment, personal planning and regular follow-up. Your progress is tracked closely through video calls and digital tools; most of my clients outside Ankara and abroad work with me online.

Which platform are online sessions held on?

Google Meet or WhatsApp video call. You don't need to install anything extra; just click the link sent to you at the appointment time.

Can I get online counselling from abroad?

Yes. I schedule appointments to suit the time difference for clients in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. Payment is possible by international transfer or card.
